Get Your Terrace Back From Pigeons and Crows
Open terraces in Ranchi's independent houses double up as drying yards, water-tank platforms, evening sit-outs, and sometimes small gardens — which is exactly why birds treat them as free real estate. Kushal Kraft installs full-terrace netting systems that cover the entire rooftop perimeter, anchored to parapet walls and support poles, so the whole area stays usable without droppings, nesting debris, or feather fallout ruining it.
A Terrace Is a Different Job From a Balcony
A balcony net covers a single railing opening. A terrace net has to span an entire rooftop — sometimes 800 to 2,000 square feet — with a water tank, solar panels, a staircase headroom structure, and parapet walls of varying heights all in the mix. That means the design has to account for wind load across a much bigger surface, multiple anchor points along the parapet, and access panels so you can still reach the water tank or clothesline without dismantling the whole net.
We build terrace nets as a proper structure rather than a single sheet: galvanised or PVC-coated support poles are fixed at the corners and at intervals along long runs, the net is stitched into panels sized for easy replacement, and every parapet-facing edge is fixed with weatherproof hooks so heavy pre-monsoon winds don't lift a corner.
Typical Ranchi terrace features we net around
- Overhead water storage tanks
- Solar water heaters and panels
- Clothesline and drying areas
- Staircase headroom (mumty) structures
- Parapet walls of uneven height
Full-perimeter coverage
One continuous system around the whole terrace edge, not patchwork sections.
Wind-rated poles
Support poles and guy-wires sized for open rooftop wind exposure, not just balcony-scale loads.
Access panels
Zippered or hook sections near the tank and stairs so maintenance doesn't mean removing the whole net.
Who Needs Terrace Netting
Rooftop used daily for drying, storage, sit-outs
Shared terrace kept clean for all residents
Rooftop dining or lounge areas kept bird-free
Large flat roofs prone to pigeon colonies
How We Install a Terrace Net
1. Rooftop survey
We walk the terrace, note parapet height, tank position, and wind exposure on each side.
2. Pole layout & fixing
Corner and mid-span poles are fixed into the parapet with weatherproof base plates.
3. Net panel stitching on-site
Large panels are joined on the terrace to match the exact perimeter, including corners and the mumty structure.
4. Tensioning across the span
Cross-cables and edge tensioning stop the net from sagging in the middle of long runs.
5. Access panel fitting & final check
Zippered sections near the tank/stairs are added, and the full net is inspected for gaps.
Why Choose Kushal Kraft for Terrace Netting
Terrace jobs are structural work as much as netting work — get the pole spacing or anchor points wrong and the whole system sags or lifts in a storm. Our crews handle the full scope in-house: measurement, pole fabrication, on-site stitching, and tensioning, so there's one team accountable for the finished result, not a net supplier and a separate installer pointing fingers at each other later.
