Powder Coated Steel Railing - Finish That Actually Lasts in Ranchi
The finish on a steel railing determines almost everything about how it looks and holds up over time. Kushal Kraft's powder coating process is applied correctly, every time - electrostatic application, proper curing, and a genuine range of durable colours.

Why the Finish Matters as Much as the Steel
Two railings can be built from identical steel and still age completely differently depending on how the finish was applied. Ordinary spray paint sits on the surface and chips or fades within a couple of years, especially outdoors. Powder coating is different - a dry powder is applied electrostatically so it clings evenly to every surface, including corners and welds that liquid paint often misses, and is then cured in an oven that fuses it into a hard, continuous shell. Done properly, this shell resists chipping, fading and corrosion far longer than conventional paint, and gives a smoother, more even colour finish across the entire railing.
Our Powder Coating Process
1. Surface Cleaning & Preparation
Every frame is cleaned of oil, scale and residue, then treated with a phosphate or similar pre-treatment so the powder coat bonds properly to bare steel.
2. Anti-Rust Priming
An anti-corrosive primer layer is applied first as standard, giving the railing a genuine defence against rust beneath the visible colour coat.
3. Electrostatic Powder Application
Dry powder particles are electrically charged and sprayed so they are drawn evenly onto every surface of the frame, including corners and weld joints.
4. Oven Curing
The coated frame is cured at controlled temperature, fusing the powder into a tough, continuous, chip-resistant shell - the step that gives powder coating its long-term durability advantage over ordinary paint.
5. Quality Check & Installation
We inspect coating thickness and evenness before delivery, then install and anchor the railing on-site with the finished coat protected throughout handling.
Colour and Texture Options
Powder coating opens up a genuinely wide colour and texture range - matte black and charcoal remain the most requested shades for contemporary Ranchi homes, but we also offer bronze, graphite, white, and bold accent colours in gloss, satin or textured matte finishes. Texture choice matters too: a fine matte texture hides fingerprints and small scratches better than a high-gloss finish, which is worth considering for handrails and high-touch areas.
Corrosion Resistance in Practice
For MS railings especially - see our MS railing fabrication page - powder coating combined with proper anti-rust priming is what actually determines how many years pass before a repaint is needed. We have seen railings from other vendors start flaking within a single monsoon season because the primer step was skipped entirely to save cost. Our process never skips that step, which is why our powder-coated railings routinely outlast the "cheap paint job" alternative by several years, even though the upfront cost difference is minimal.
