Staircase Safety Grill Installation in Ranchi

Open internal staircases, duplex mezzanines and external stair landings are one of the most common fall-injury spots in a home. Our wire rope staircase safety grill secures the open side of a staircase without boxing it in behind heavy iron bars.

Where Staircase Falls Actually Happen

Open Stair Void

The open side of a straight or dog-leg staircase, where a person can fall to the floor below through an unguarded edge.

Mezzanine / Duplex Landing

Upper-floor landings that overlook a double-height living area, common in Ranchi duplex apartments and villas.

External Stair & Terrace Access

Outdoor staircases leading to a terrace or roof, often with a low or missing parapet on one side.

Why Staircases Need Special Handling

A staircase safety barrier has to follow a raked (sloped) line rather than a flat horizontal run, which changes both the anchoring geometry and the wire spacing calculation - the vertical gap between wires along a slope is not the same as the gap you would measure on a flat balcony rail, and getting this wrong leaves a triangular gap at the base of each step big enough for a small child to squeeze through. We calculate spacing along the actual rake angle of your staircase, not a flat approximation, so the barrier is genuinely safe from the top step to the bottom.

We also route the wire rope run to follow continuously from the staircase down to any adjoining balcony or landing rail, so there is no unguarded handoff point where one safety system ends and another begins - a gap that is common in staircases retrofitted by generalist grill installers who treat the stair and the landing as two separate unrelated jobs.

Our Installation Process

  1. Rake measurement - we measure the staircase pitch and existing railing/baluster height at every step.
  2. Spacing calculation - wire gaps are calculated along the slope, not a flat guess, so no triangular gap forms.
  3. Anchor fitting - anchors are fixed into the existing railing posts or directly into the stair stringer/wall.
  4. Continuous run - wires are extended seamlessly into any adjoining landing or balcony rail.
  5. Testing - every wire is pull-tested and spacing checked step by step before handover.

Kushal Kraft handles staircase safety grills for homes, duplex apartments, schools and small commercial buildings across Ranchi, with regular projects in Jamshedpur, Dhanbad and Bokaro.

Frequently Asked Questions

A staircase rail slopes with the steps, so a flat horizontal spacing measurement leaves triangular gaps near the base of each step. We calculate spacing along the actual rake angle to close that gap.

In most cases yes, we anchor the wire rope onto your existing railing posts. If the railing is too low or damaged, we can add supplementary posts.

Yes, we run the wire continuously from the staircase into any adjoining landing or balcony rail so there is no unguarded gap.

A typical single staircase run is completed in about a day, including measurement, fitting and testing.
